BE AN EXAMPLE TO THE WORLD
"Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."
- 1 Timothy 4:12
The PVBC Student Ministry consists of students in grades 6-12. We are an active group dedicated to studying the Word and living it out in our daily lives! Our students realize the importance of being the hands and feet of Christ through service activities. That is why our group will soon be choosing a local ministry to adopt! It won't just be a "one-and-done" type deal, but rather we'll continually serve this ministry as a means to build relationships and share the Gospel.
As a group, we meet on Sunday Mornings for "Rise-N-Grind" @ 9:15 am in the Youth House in which we eat breakfast together, drink coffee, and study an Old Testament book of the Bible. Immediately following Rise-N-Grind is our morning service which starts at 10:30 am in the PVBC Sanctuary! Sunday Evenings always consist of events where our students can let loose and have fun! We've hosted scavenger hunts, game nights, gone to Defy Gravity, played laser tag, and even done some crazy events like "Melonfest," "Shaving Cream Wiffle Ball," and a "Slopstacle Course." Wednesday Evenings we meet in the Youth House at 6:30 pm for our "Illuminate" Bible Study. We call it this because we're dedicated to the Holy Spirit "illuminating" truth to us as we read his Word.
Our Student Ministry is forever indebted to those volunteers (college age and above) who are dedicated to mentoring/discipling the younger students. In our student ministry, we follow the multiplication model. We teach our students what it means to follow the Lord, and then encourage them to go teach it to someone else. Jesus patterned this model for us in the New Testament, and if it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for us.
